Why is my senior dog hacking and coughing like she's choking?

I have a 15-year-old cocker spaniel in the last few days she’s been doing a lot of hacking almost like she’s choking. Pet's info: Dog | American Cocker Spaniel | Female | spayed | 13 years and 1 month old | 40 lbs

I recommend to have her examined tomorrow. It's possible she has an infection or a mass in the throat. It's also possible there is pathology in her heart or lungs.
