My dog eats grass weekly with odd stool. Should I try sensitive food?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 3 years and 8 months old | 14 lbs

Zoey wants to eat grass and nothing else for most of the day about once a week. She doesn’t vomit, unusual stool with grass and pink gunk but still has form. After that she is good to go again! I’ve tried emininating certain treats, individually - no chg. She eats science diet dry food with a sprinkle of white chicken. No table food. Vet has said no worries if not vomiting or diarrhea. Should I try sensitive stomach dog food? Any other thought,s? We’rout of town from reg vet right now.

Yes, trying a sensitive stomach dog food may help. Science Diet and Purina ProPlan both make good formuals. Starting her on a probiotic 1 week of every month may also help. Please feel free to post any additional questions.
