My cat threw up, is tired, and has pale gums. Is he too hot?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hi, my name is Ashlee. I was wondering if you could give me some advice.Yesterday my cat threw up after he ate and this morning at 4:00 he did again, but between and after that he has eaten and he kept it down.I played with him this morning and he ran around like usual and he still purs.He is a little more tired than usual but he still gets up. His gums are a bit pale. Could this just be symptoms from being to hot?

Cats usually don't vomit when they are too hot, but there are many other things that can cause vomiting and it's possible that he won't vomit again. If you feel his gums are very pale or he continues to act lethargic today I'd recommend having a vet examine him in person. Otherwise I think you could monitor him today but if he vomits again or won't eat you should take him to your vet. They might want to check blood work or take an x-ray to rule out an obstruction.
