My dog has white mucus dots in his poop. Is a vet visit needed?

Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd - miniature | Male | neutered | 2 years and 4 months old | 31 lbs

Mini Australian Shepherd. Eats Stella and Chewy's whitefish dog food. He poops twice a day at minimum, sometimes more if he's very active. I've noticed white round mucus dots in his poop. They're not worms (not long, not rice shaped, not moving), and he's on Trifexis for monthly prevention. No change in his energy level or appetite. Is this something that I need to take him in to a vet for?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Ollie. I do recommend having him seen by his veterinarian. Mucus indicates inflammation the colon and is not normal. Once a cause is determined, he can be treated. I hope this information helps!
