My cat isn't peeing, pooping, and is lethargic. Should I call vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 5 years and 10 months old | 10 lbs

My cat hasn’t peed all day and hasn’tpooped since Friday. I’m fairly certain she didn’t pee or poop anywhere outside the litterbox because I've been home for most of that time and would've smelled it. It's especially weird given that she had her normal amount of liquids today plus drank from the water bowl this morning, which I rarely see her do. She's also been a bit lethargic tonight. Should I be concerned?

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Mystique. That is a bit concerning she hasn't peed all day and has not pooped since Friday. The lethargy you are seeing indicates a problem as well. My advice is to monitor her tonight, and if she is still lethargic in the morning, hasn't peed, and/or still hasn't pooped, take her into a vet first thing. I hope this helps!
