How can I tell my new budgie's age if I bought it from a pet store?

Your budgie is probably somewhere between 6 and 12 months of age. The head is free of "barring" which is present in younger birds. The eyes are not clearly seen in the images provided. Look for iris rings. Older birds have a well developed iris ring. Younger birds have none or very faint iris rings. If the rings are faint in Polie's eyes, she is likely closer the 6 month end of the estimate.

    There is still some barring or stripping on their heads. This doesn't typically begin to disappear until about 4 months of age. There are no visible iris rings either. These rings in the eye begin to develop between 4 and 6 months of age. By 8-12 months, the iris rings in the eyes are very visible. All that said, these budgies appear to be quite young. I would estimate between 3-6 months of age. Their wings do not appear to be clipped.
