My dog was bitten by a rat. Should I worry about rabies or infection?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Female | 3 years and 1 month old | 57 lbs

This is the Second update to my previous question.. My Ghontu had an encounter with a rodent i guess(possibly a rat) about an hour back. I found some blood on the floor. I searched her and found two small scratches (possibly bite marks but not sure) on her nose.. Should I be worried about this? I am from India, so good veterinarians are tough to find here. it would be great if you guys can help.

Again, I don't think you need to be worried about this. What are you worried about? Rabies? Skin infection? Just clean the scratches with antiseptic cleaner. If you want to post again and be more specific about what you are worried about her catching then we can maybe be more helpful. Also, some photos of the scratches would be helpful as well.
