My bird is a fussy eater. How can I train him if he won't eat treats?

Alfie is a really fussy eater and I am trying to get him more comfortable with me since he doesn’t like pats or anything. I have tried to give him treats and other food but he won’t eat it making training harder, what should I do. Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Female

Thanks for reaching out about Alfred. It is often difficult to train birds that are not motivated by food. Out of his normal food bowl, what does he eat the most? Remove that from the offering and set aside to be utilized as a re-enforcement item. A book title "A Guide to a Well Behaved Parrot" is a good start. Good luck.
