My cat woke up with one eye closed. Why can't she open it?

We woke up to angels eye on one side closed she could not open it. This is the first time this has happened with her. What could have caused it. She was fine last night. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 19 days old | 1lb

Poor Angel! This could be caused by a few things including getting something stuck in her eye, a viral infection or getting a scratch on the cornea. All of these conditions need to be addressed by the veterinarian and she is also in pain (that's why the eye is closed).
