My puppy's black, broken baby tooth has an abscess. Does it need pulling?

Pet's info: Dog | German Wirehaired Pointer | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 6 days old | 33 lbs

My puppy has a broken baby canine tooth and it’s black looking. He also has an abscess on him gums that had puss coming out of it. Does his tooth need to be pulled ? His adult is coming out behind it.

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Gibson. Poor boy. If the tooth is black, it's dying so yes it needs to be pulled asap. His abscess also needs to be treated asap. I'd take him into a vet in the morning. I hope this helps!
