My puppy's black, broken baby tooth has an abscess. Does it need pulling?

My puppy has a broken baby canine tooth and it’s black looking. He also has an abscess on him gums that had puss coming out of it. Does his tooth need to be pulled ? His adult is coming out behind it. Pet's info: Dog | German Wirehaired Pointer | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 6 days old | 33 lbs
