My indoor cat has a wound on her butt and isn't eating. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 8 lbs

I discovered an open wound on my cat's butt. She is an indoor cat. What is it? I also noticed that she hasn't eaten a lot recently, over the past 3 days. I though it was because I gave her catnip and it hit her stomach wrong.

Hi, yes it looks like Precious has a wound. It could be an abscess that has opened and is trying to heal. If this is the case, Precious will require the area to be cleaned thoroughly by your veterinarian and might also need antibiotics. Do you have another cat that might have unwillingly caused this ? It could be the result of play fighting for example. If you wish, please let us know how Precious gets on. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach !
