Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Female | spayed | 2 years and 6 months old | 61 lbs

My dog has bumps and hair loss around her eye, she's two and has sensitive skin. We have been applying cream we use for other rashes she gets but it's not clearing up. (Neocort antibiotic and anti-inflammatory cream), will this cream help the rash?

Hello, thank you for using PetCoach. It is difficult to me to be 100% sure as to what is going on here just based on this photo. Ruki should really see a vet for this issue. To me, it looks like eye discharge that is pooling under the lower eyelid causing the "rash". She may have a blocked tear duct. You need to be very careful what medications you are using near the eye. Many creams can cause irritation and sometimes even chemical burns to the cornea. I would not use those products near the eye. If you want to use something in/around the eye I would suggest this eye gel: ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/vetericyn-plus-antimicrobial-pet-eye-gel-for-dogs ) Hope this helps. Best wishes.
