Kitten got hot water on him, no pain, can't afford vet. What now?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Snow Tiger Siamese | Male | unneutered | 3.5 lbs

My sister accidentally spilled boiling hot water on my kitten and I can't afford the vet right now. He didn't lose any hair in the spot that had water poured on it, he isn't limping or yowling, he's his usual playful self. When I touched the area, he doesn't yelp in pain (he's just annoyed that I'm touching him). Not sure what to do :(

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. So sorry to hear that Luffy has this problem. It would be easier for us to help you if you had included some photos. Also, it would be nice to know when this actually happened. Burns can be very serious and we need to at least see some photos to better guide you. This kitten is going to need vaccines, deworming, neutering, etc so you should start looking now for a low cost veterinarian for him now. Please post again with some photos and more information. Thank you.
