What's this sudden bruised lump on my 15-year-old Yorkie's side?

My 15 year old Yorkie suddenly developed this bruised area with a lump in the middle . It’s very obvious so it had To have developed very quickly for it to go unnoticed . It’s located on her right side upper abdominal area, not close to her nipples, it’s too high up and over towards her side, I did shave the hair on and around it to get a better look so this developed under her hair. Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | spayed | 15 years old | 12 lbs

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I'm sorry that Sophie is having this issue. This looks pretty serious to me. I would be worried about an injury as the area is very bruised and the lump is possibly a herniation. Regardless, of what this may be, especially at her age, I would be concerned enough to get her examined by a veterinarian in person. Please do that as soon as possible. I hope this helps.
