Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Vetmedin, most of the time, is taken well by most pets. However, if you are finding it difficult to administer in it's tablet form, you can crush the tablet and give with food. The only downside to this method is that your pet may not eat all of the food and there is no guarantee your pet is getting the full dose. You can try pill pockets, peanut butter or liver wurst to see if you can get your pet to take the Vetmedin in it's tablet form as well. I hope this helps!

Hi and thanks for your post on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach this morning. I would advise against crushing the tablet or mixing the two medications if not advised to do so by your veterinarian. It would be helpful to know the two medication that were given by your veterinarian so I could advise further, but in general, it is best to stick with the directions for the medications as they were prescribed by your veterinarian. Drugs can lose their efficacy if altered from the way they were intended to be administered or combined with other drugs at the same time. Thanks you for posting and good luck to you and Jenny!
