Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I agree, that is some very dark urine which indicates he must not be drinking enough. You need to increase his water intake. The best way to do that is to add some chicken or beef broth to his food; use the low sodium kind. The added salt (even in the low sodium variety) should encourage him to drink more. If this dark urine continues for more than a few days you should take him to your vet for an exam and urine test.

The urine can get darker if Spock is a bit dehydrated or the urine is concentrated from not drinking as much. If he doesn't want to drink a whole lot of water you can mix some into his kibble by moistening it with water to encourage increased intake. You can also check for dehydration by lightly pinching and tending the skin over his shoulders. If it is slow to return to normal or "sticky" in its return, that can indicate dehydration. If Spock is dehydrated or the dark urine continues, having the urine tested and having him examined by your vet is best to rule out any issues.
