Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 5 years old | 4 lbs
Hello, My cat had mites pretty badly and had a skin reaction the sulfur lime dips so our vet ended up giving her ivermectin shots. She’s had 4, each spaced a week or so apart. Since her last one she has been especially itchy, licking herself so much that she’s often wet. I’ve given her a bath, but it’s not helping much (did in the past). Additionally, she has a lot of saliva, a small red mark above her mouth and extremely dialated eyes. What do you recommend?

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I do not know what brands of products you are using but it seems like she is having a toxicity reaction possibly from licking products off her body but could also be from the ivermectin injections. The dilated pupils are very concerning and one the first signs of a toxicity as well as hyper salivation. Full body mites at her age is not a normal thing we see here in the US so I am not sure the diagnosis is correct. I suggest you take her back to your vet or get a second opinion from another vet. I cannot really give you much direction as to where to go from here without knowing if she is having a toxicity reaction or not and why. There is not a blanket treatment for "mites" - it depends what type of mites they are (scabies vs demodex). Lime sulphur dips are not really used for this problem; it is really only used anymore in cases of full body ringworm.
