What's this growing lump on my dog's muzzle? Is it serious?

Thank you for the picture, it's very helpful. Unfortunately without seeing Kobe in person, I cannot say for certain what this is on his muzzle, but I can make a few educated guesses. First off, it could be a histiocytoma. That is a benign tumor that in their early stage grows rapidly. Typically these spontaneously regress. It could also be a cyst, an infected hair follicle, or another type of benign growth. Because it is growing rapidly, it should be checked out by his vet to be safe. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed. I recommend giving his vet a call to make him an appointment. I hope this helps!
