My puppies anus looks weak. I haven’t seen the rectum prolapsed like in the pictures I have looked up online. He had strained a few times, but I hadn’t noticed his little anus looked abnormal until I trimmed his hair there. Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 3 days old | 1.8 lbs

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I unfortunately cannot tell much about how the anus is functioning by looking at a photo. Testing has to be done in person by a vet to see if the sphincter is responding. I do not see a prolapse in this photo. I agree the anal opening looks flaccid but that is all I can say. I strongly recommend you take him to a vet for an exam especially if you think he is straining. At 2 months old he is ready for his first vaccinations anyway and if he has not been dewormed already that needs to be done as well.
