My dog's mouth bothers her, vet says fine. Is it dog thrush?

My pet acts like she has thrush, I say that because I had it at the very same time. My vet said she is fine but she still acts like her mouth is bothering her. Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 3 years and 7 months old | 60 lbs

Hello, thank you for using PetCoach. I'm sorry Roxy is having this issue. I can honestly say that in over 20 years in veterinary medicine I have never seen a case of oral thrush in a dog. I'm not saying it's impossible but it is not very likely. If her mouth seems to be bothering her but there is nothing obvious on just a quick exam of her mouth then she needs to be sedated so the vet can get a better look in there. That is what I would recommend. In the meantime you can try this oral rinse to see if it helps. It contains an antimicrobial agent that also works well again some fungal agents like Candida sp. which are the main culprit with thrush. It won't hurt to use it and it may help until you can get an appointment for sedation. Use as directed on the label.
