Hello! This is normal. You can see a period of no pooping after having diarrhea, and I would not worry that he hasn't had any poop for 12 hours. Just be careful giving him Imodium, it's not safe if given more than two days and it's really safe for smaller dogs. I would keep feeding him the chicken and rice in small portions for the next 3 days, then slowly start adding back in his normal diet. If the diarrhea starts again or he has other symptoms such as vomiting, refusing to eat, blood in his poop, or lethargy, he will have to see a vet immediately. I hope this helps!

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Do not be too worried about him not producing any stool. Immodium is very potent and works by slowing down the motility (movement) of the GI tract so I am not surprised he has not passed much stool since then. It is not uncommon for them to not poop for up to 3 days. If he is acting well I would not be overly concerned at this stage. Just keep monitoring him and if he doesn't produce any stool within the next 48-72 hours then I would have him checked out by your vet. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
