What is the total number of tablets for proper dosing of Praziquantel tablets for my cat who has tapeworms? She is 6 pounds, and five months old. I gave her one 23 mg tablet. Does she require two more doses every five hours? Pet's info: Cat | Maine Coon | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 28 days old | 6 lbs

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Cats should be treated with an initial dose (based on the label instructions) and then again after 3 weeks. DO NOT give multiple doses in a day. Cats get tapeworms by ingested fleas that are infected with the tapeworm larvae so be sure to get the fleas under control.
