Why is my kitten drooling with mouth wounds and can't eat or drink?

This kitten I feed has this drool my substance and wounds on his mouth, he can’t really chew or drink today. What could it be?

Poor Peanut! If he is a stray cat, he could have been in a fight, or may have been hit by a car and injury. It's a medical emergency if he can't chew or drink, as he will starve to death or succumb to dehydration. He really needs to see a vet immediately. Please take him into a vet now for treatment. It's so lovely of you to look after him!

It may simply be a case of him not being hungry, especially if he is stray and hasn't been getting much food. However, I would be concerned about this open wound you mention. It could be infected or causing pain. Ideally I would take him to s vet for an exam and treatment, given the circumstances you may be able to attend a charity clinic.

Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Sorry to hear about Fluffernutter. Most likely he is having some periodontal problems in the mouth. Gum inflammation (gingivitis), tooth abscesses involving soft tissue and bone infection. This is most likely the cause of what you are seeing. It's also possible that there is an oral mass (tumor) in the mouth. I would advise trying to find a local cat rescue group in the area to help you with this guy. Many communities have a support system for these Community Cats. They will also help to get him neutered and vaccinated if there is such a program in your area. Reach out to the local groups and see if they can help with his care. There may be a low-cost clinic in your area willing to help with him. Good luck

Why would an adult male cat, not to groom, eat hard cat food, drools, and has a hard time drinking. It's almost like his tongue is missing.
It sounds as he is suffering from oral ulcers/gum inflammation, it's a very common medical condition in cats. you need to take him to the vet ASAP in order to get it treated, he will probably need a steroid injection to start with.

Hello, it looks like an abscess, probably a tooth abscess, it's an emergency as he is not eating, take him to the emergency vet as soon as you can today, the abscess will need to be drained under anesthesia first, then a course of antibiotics will be given.

Sounds like he may have chewed on or tasted something irritating/toxic. The other option is he could have ulcerations in his mouth from a viral disease (ie: calicivirus). I suggest you have Oscar examined by your vet.

Your cat needs to see his veterinarian ASAP. It is possible that your cat has a tooth abscess, severe periodontal disease, something lodged inside the mouth, an injury, or an oral tumor. Regardless of cause, this is a serious medical condition since it is preventing him from eating and drinking normally. Your cat is at risk of becoming dehydrated and developing a condition called hepatic liposis, which can lead to liver failure. Even going 24 hours without food can cause changes in liver functioning.

I recommend to have Rigatoni examined by the veterinarian. Drooling is a sign of serious inflammation or even oral ulcers. This is likely painful. A physical exam and medications will help him to feel better. He may also be dehydrated so it's best to have him examined today. Hi, I would recommend to have him checked over as from a tiny puncture wound he could be developing an abscess.. and they cause quite a lot of pain ! Offer him some soft food in the meantime and keep him indoors so that you can monitor him.

This is an emergency. You need to take your kitten to a pet ER right away. Small kittens can die very quickly from injuries but they can also recuperate very quickly if treated properly. It is important to find where the blood comes from and how serious the injury is. The fact that the neck is hurting is especially concerning. Please take your kitten to an emergency veterinarian now.

My cat is drooling a lot and has sores around her mouth. Won't drink or eat
Cats can develop something called gingivostomatitis as well as feline oral resoptive lesions. These are both very painful and require antibiotics and sometimes steroids as well as dental procedures to correct. Also if there's any possibility she chewed something like electric cord or plant that can calls the signs as well. I recommend Dusk be checked out by a veterinarian as soon as possible. This is to prevent her from becoming dehydrated and malnourished from not eating. Do not give her any human medications as they are very toxic to cats and I'll make the situation worse.
