My dog has small pimples after birth. Are they contagious to puppies?

My dog gave birth a month ago and I noticed these small pimples lumps on her skin her legs and one on next to her mouth should I be worried about the puppies latching on might it be contagious if they can get it to I’m taking her tomorrow to the vet…but should I take her away from the babys…. Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 26 days old

Hi and thanks for your request. This presentation is likely to be due to a mild bacterial skin infection. Disinfection with hibiscrub diluted 1:10 with water used twice daily would help to clean those spots. Common bacteria that live on dogs skin are responsible for these signs so, although they can be transmitted to other dogs, I would not take her away from the puppies.
