Pet's info: Dog | Maltipoo | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 7 days old | 6.5 lbs

my dog is about 5 months old and has been doing well with potting outside and holding it if he needs to. he started a honking cough in the past two days, and then tonight, he peed in three separate places in the house—one of which being on the bed while he slept. this is not normal behavior-the bed is brand new. should i be worried? what could be causing this?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Cash. I do believe that his change in behavior is significant. It is worth having him evaluated by his veterinarian. The cough may indicate a respiratory tract infection such as kennel cough. If he is not feeling well, he may be more likely to have urinary accidents. Urinary tract infections will cause accidents in the house, but are less common in male dogs. The doctor will evaluate him, take his temperature as well as listen to his heart and lungs. A urine sample may be tested as well. I hope this information helps and he is back to normal soon!
