My dog wore Seresto. When can I use Frontline Plus? Bathe first?

I have decided not to use the Seresto collar after only one month's use. I am fearful after reading recent concerns with the potential risk. I took the collar off my 8 year old lab mix on Saturday. How long do I need to wait before applying Frontline Plus topical? Is it best to give her a bath first with Dawn dishsoap? Thank you for your help!

Hello there! Once you remove the Seresto collar, you can safely use the Frontline Plus topical. You do not need to wait and you do not need to give Lucy a bath first with the Dawn dish soap. Great question!

Hello. Yes, absolutely you can use both, but since the collar lasts 8 months, remove it for a week after you reapply the Frontline Plus. Then you can safely put the collar back on. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

My cat had a reaction to the Seresto flea and tick collar. When should I administer a topical medication like Frontline Plus for Cats?
I would wait until the skin reaction from the collar has completely healed before putting another topical medication on the skin. I would recommend asking your vet if you can give a dose of Comfortis this month. It is an oral flea prevention so you won’t have to worry about the skin at all. I hope this helps. Cats are exquisitely sensitive to flea medication, so I would not put the Seresto collar on Willow just yet. Wait at least two weeks, then apply it. You can give her Capstar now. It’s a one time pill that starts killing fleas and is safe to give. I hope this helps!

I've had a Seresto collar on my 2 cats for a couple weeks and wanted some extra protection, is it safe to use Frontline Plus while they have the collars on?
You can use Frontline plus while they have the Seresto collar but this should not be necessary as Seresto is good for at least 6 months. So I would not recommend applying an additional flea and tick preventive.

Can Seresto be used with frontline, or advantage? I have heard alot of raving things about Seresto, but i am skeptical about flea collars working. If i bought one can i put it on my dog even tho she was treated with advantage? She has a flea allergy
It is ok to use Seresto along with other topical products, just not oral ones. In some pets there can be a little skin irritation, so watch out for that and notify your vet if this happens. Otherwise, you should be fine to go ahead with Seresto to see if this does the trick. I would also recommend using a flea fogger to treat your home, which can be found at your local Home Depot or Lowe's. If you still don't have good results with the Seresto collar, then I would wait at least 2 weeks and consider better products such as Simparica or Nexgard. I could not get all the frontline plus on my puppy as he wiggled around so much. Most went on his hair. Help
You can wash the product off his har with Dawn dish soap (it is a grease/oil remover). Then wait 24 hours and apply the Frontline again. If you can't get the topical product on him effectively you may need to switch to an oral product or use a Seresto collar. One Seresto collar lasts up to 8 months. It is very cost effective and easy to use. You didn't mention the age of your puppy so be sure to read all package instructions to make sure products are safe to use on whatever age your puppy is. Hello! I'm sorry to hear that Bliss is still struggling with fleas. They can be really hard to get rid of! It is usually safe to give Capstar with Seresto, but if your dog has any medical conditions, I highly suggest that you contact your vet first. Seresto and Frontline used together should not interact, but it's never a bad idea to wait a day or two between removing the collar and applying the Frontline. This is my suggestion for your next few days: First, give Bliss a good bath. I do not recommend using any flea or tick shampoos - a regular dog shampoo or baby shampoo should do the trick. Leave the soapy lather on her skin for several minutes before rinsing, and use a flea comb to get rid of as many fleas as possible. Next, give Bliss the Capstar. Immediately after, be sure to wash all her beds on the hottest cycle. Beds that can't be washed should be dusted with diatomaceous earth or borax powder (away from pets). Thank you for using Boop by Petco! I recommend waiting about 2-3 days after applying Frontline to bathe your dog to allow sufficient time for the product to absorb. You should also wait about 2-3 days after bathing to apply Frontline to allow the skin to be slightly oily to optimally absorb the product.

I put Frontline Plus on my cat 6 days ago. However, the fleas didn’t go away. I gave him a bath yesterday with Dawn dish soap, but the fleas immediately came back. I just went out and got a Seresto collar. Can I put it on my cat now?
Hello, thank you for your question about Jumi. Yes it is safe to put the Seresto collar on him now. One of the challenging aspects of flea preventatives is that in order for many products to work the flea has to bite, this is when they are exposed to the active ingredient and this leads to death. Therefore, just seeing live fleas doesn't mean the product isn't working. A very important part of the treatment of fleas is treatment of the environment. I would recommend purchasing a carpet shampoo that is specifically designed to help with flea treatment. If the collar does not treat all of Jumi's fleas I would recommend contacting your veterinarian to discuss the need of an additional flea treatment, such as Capstar. This helps to quickly kill any adult fleas on the cat. Hope this helps, good luck!

Wait about two weeks before putting the Seresto Collar on Oliver. Then it should be fine, In the meantime, check him every day for ticks and when you find a tick, remove it. This should tide you over until you can put the collar on him. Don't forget to vacuum your house often and put flea powder in the vacuum cleaner bag so the vacuumed up flea eggs and larvae will get killed. Make sure you vacuum all areas Oliver has access to.
