My cat throws up white foam and undigested food. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Female | spayed | 5 years and 9 months old | 10 lbs

My cat is throwing up 5-6 times in a row. Each time it small amounts of white foam and undigested food. First she is very vocal and is crying at me ,I will check to see if she has food/water, clean litter. Then when everything seems to fine she starts throwing up. After she’s done she is perfectly fine the next day. This has happened on three occasions. I’ve taken her to the vet the first time and they said it’s just because she hasn’t ate. Should I be concerned and take her to the vet again?

Yes, I would definitely take Sophie into the vet again. This vomiting isn't normal and it does need to be diagnosed. This time when she sees the vet, I recommend having blood work and a urinalysis done, and I would ask the vet about maybe having abdominal x-rays done as well. I hope this helps.
