My cat has a mouth injury. Should I be worried and what to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 11 lbs

What's this in her mouth, what to do about it? Is it critical or normal? She doesn't seem to be hurting, she is eating and cleaning herself normally, but I am really worried about it, I need to know what is this to take care of her. She has been like this for around one week, I guess. I am afraid of giving her a shower and end up hurting her in the wound, I don't know if its ok to do it. I have a bactericidal pet spray but I don't know if it is ok to apply it.

Poor Floquinha, pictures can be very difficult to interpret but it looks like she may have pulled to skin away from the gums. I would recommend a vet check to ensure there is no infection or debris in the wound but at this late stage surgical repair may not be possible with treatment aiming to keep the area clean and allow secondary wound healing.
