Is my dog's x-ray showing collapsed trachea or just a fuzzy image?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hello Docs, I just wanted to ask if this x-ray of my dog indicates a collapsed trachea or is the section where it seems collapsed just fuzzy in the image. Thank you

Hi and thanks for your request The trachea does not seem collapsed but there may be a radiopacity superimposed on top of the trachea at the level of thoracic inlet. This may be on the left or right side, pushing the trachea sideway. A ventro-dorsal view or an ultrasound should be performed to assess this.
