Hi and thanks for your request. This looks like chin acne, a deep bacterial infection quite commonly seen in these cases. Please provide some disinfection with hibiscrub solution twice daily 1:10 diluted with water and use a buster collar to avoid any scratching/rubbing. If no improvement is seen in a week time a check up will be required as antibiotics may be needed.

Hello. This is probably some skin acne due to a bacterial infection. It could also be an allergic reaction to something, but the larger pustule definitely looks bacterial. Do not poke it or try to drain it. You will want to pick up or order some antimicrobial pet wipes ( will usually contain the skin antiseptic, chlorhexidine ) from Amazon, or Chewy.com. Clean Bo's skin 2-3 times daily. If the lesions worsen, or are not healing after 7-10 days, he may need oral antibiotics to clear this up. Poor girl. This appears to be a classic chin acne presentation. Benzoyl peroxide (acne wipes) typically help with this, but Bella also needs a short course of antibiotics to help clear this up. This is usually caused by an allergy to either something in her food or the environment. I would recommend using steel bowls only because plastic bowls are a common cause of chin acne in pets. I hope this helps. Best wishes with your pet Bella. Take care.

Hello there, This appears to be chin acne, but this could also be evidence of a deeper skin infection, allergies, or other skin disease. If this is simple chin acne (aka pimples), then using acne wipes with 1-2% Salicylic Acid once daily may be helpful. If this is a deeper skin infection, it will need treatment with antibiotics (oral or topical) from Zeus' veterinarian. I'd recommend monitoring them for now and scheduling an appointment with his vet if they bother him, cause him pain, if it rapidly swells, if the pustules spread to other parts of his body, or he shows any behavioral changes such as lethargy or lack of appetite. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
