My dog got into my trash and ate a Trader Joe’s scallion pancake about an hour ago. He seems okay - should I be worried? INGREDIENTS - water, unbleached wheat flour, fry mix (unbleached wheat flour, baking mix [starch, salt, garlic powder, pepper], corn powder, baking powder [corn starch, sodium acid pyrophosphate, calcium phosphate, sodium bicarbonate, calcium stearate]), onion, leek, carrot, scallion, king oyster mushroom, egg, soybean oil, salt, soy sauce (water, wheat, soybean, salt).

The amount of onion/scallion in the pancake is likely not enough to cause a serious toxicity. At worst, you may see some vomiting and/or diarrhea. If necessary, fast Iggy for 24 hours then feed a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. Transition slowly to the regular diet afterwards. Monitor for lethargy, persistent vomiting or diarrhea, loss of appetite, panting or exercise intolerance. These symptoms should be addressed by your veterinarian.
