My female dog has a new lump. Is it a nipple or something serious?

Thank you for the picture of Shiva's lump, it's very helpful! I'm wondering based on it's location if that is one of her nipples, but it's hard to tell from the picture. It may also be a benign lump. I don't know her age, but if she is an older dog, there is always a chance it could be something more serious like a malignant lump. I do think you should get it checked out by a vet to be safe. I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Thanks for the picture. It appears to be a growth on the nipple. If it is new or has increased in size I would have it evaluated by your Vet. It could be a benign growth like a cyst or hyperplasia of the nipple or it could be a mammary tumor. Your Vet can discuss possibly aspirating it if they are concerned or removing it for biopsy. I recently found a lump on one of my dogs breasts. I don’t know if I should take her to the vet or not, I researched online and I think it might be a memmary tumor .
Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address our concern. Judging from the photos, it appears that the mass is associated with the mammary gland. Some dogs can have a larger amount of fat and glandular tissue that is normal and nothing to be concerned about. However, this could be a primary mammary mass that needs further testing. My bitch has a lump on her 5th nipple filled with lumps that move about like marbles. They do not hurt her but pink discharge out nipple when squeezed
Hi there and thank you for using pet coach. In an older female with lumps near or associated with the nipple, I get concerned with mammary tumors. In dogs, about 50% of these can be cancerous and the rest benign. I would recommend having this looked at by your veterinarian for further testing. Your vet can insert a small needle into the mass and look at the cells under a microscope to help determine what it could be. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Is it just a deformed nipple? Or should we take her in to get it checked out? It's on her underside. She's a Labrador and bull dog mix if that's important.
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I think it would be worthwhile having her evaluated to make sure that it does indeed look like a nipple and to ensure it is not something else like a mass or nodule. Based on an examination, your veterinarian would be able to tell you if this should be biopsied or not. Good luck!

I can see some blood clot kind of thing in 2 of her nipples. When being touched it feels like a small lump. What is it?
I do not see anything immediately concerning on the pictures but it is recommended to get all lumps checked by your vet to rule out sinister causes, especially if there is any change in size, colour or texture. Some changes will occur with puberty and this may be what you can feel

I need to know if this lump is anything to worry about or not
It is impossible to say for sure but approximately 50% of mammary (breast) lumps are cancerous and they are particularly concerning in older and entire (non-neutered) females add if there is any discoloration (appears bruised in picture), pain or discharge. I strongly recommend an urgent vet check given the red flags which are present

Hello please help my chihuahua is a year old female, i have found a sift movable lump under the skin on her breast but a i pressed it a little blood came out

This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. My 8 year old chihuahua has a hard lump under her breast ... what could it be ?
It is difficult to tell what is going on with Panthera based on the picture alone. The lump in the picture almost looks wet, so I would be concerned about a potential cyst or infected gland. Since she is unspayed, I also worry about potential mammary cancer, which we see more commonly in intact females. It can present as firm masses under the mammary glands. Dogs can also get benign masses of the mammary tissue as well. The best course of action would be to take her to your regular vet to have them evaluate her. She may need a fine needle aspirate of the lump. This is when we take a sample of cells from the area and look at it under the microscope to try to determine what the underlying cause is. It is no more painful than a vaccine and can give a lot of information as to if anything further needs to be done for Panthera or not.

i noticed my female dog has this lump of tissue on the right lower mammary gland on just one side and just one nipple and there is some kind of liquid coming out of it, the lump is not really hard either and she’s not pregnant & never has been i jus
