Pet's info: Cat | Turkish Van | 7 years and 5 months old
HI, about two years ago my cat was suffering from bladder crystals, and we took him to the vet, they recommended royal canine urinary S/O and few treatments, right now he is okey, after the treatment, the vet recomended to change his dry food to normal food royal canine sterilized, but sometimes i am worried the crystals may come back, can i change his dry food to urinary care to prevent crystal formation. he is 8 year old by the way.

An over the counter urinary care diet should be fine to give if you have concerns. I would also recommend regular yearly rechecks of urine with your vet as this is the best way to monitor Mushu for any changes that may need treatment or a switch back to a prescription medication again. If you do notice him having any issues again, a vet visit more quickly for treatment is best.

I would recommend feeding Gucci the prescription food. There are no over the counter foods that have been proven to prevent bladder stones and crystals like the prescription food. Since he has had no urinary issues since you started it I would continue the prescription diet also because Gucci is doing so well with it. I hope that helps
