My cat escaped and came back with a wound. Is it an animal bite?

my cat accidentally got out of the house and was missing for a couple hours. he came back with some sort of wound. what can we do? does this look like an animal bite? we can take him to the vet if necessary. but would appreciate at home treatments. Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 1 year old | 13 lbs
