My cat escaped and came back with a wound. Is it an animal bite?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 1 year old | 13 lbs

my cat accidentally got out of the house and was missing for a couple hours. he came back with some sort of wound. what can we do? does this look like an animal bite? we can take him to the vet if necessary. but would appreciate at home treatments.

With a wound that severe, It would be best to bring him to your vet or an emergency clinic immediately. Any time a cat escapes and is gone for several hours or days, and comes back wounded, vet care is needed. Your vet can clean and treat the wound with medications, stutures, etc, and also check Naru over to rule out any internal injuries or injuries on the body that need care.
