What to do about a pea-sized lump on my cat's back? Vet or wait?

I felt a pea sized lump on my cats back below her left shoulder. I cannot see it to take a photo because her hair is so thick but I’m worried. I’m not sure what it is and I don’t know if I should take her to the vet to get it looked at. She doesn’t seem to act up if I press down on the lump. She’s exhibiting normal behavior; drinking, eating and playing. Should I take her to the vet to get it looked at or just keep an eye on it for the time being? If she is otherwise acting normal, then you could monitor it for a little bit and see if it goes away. If the lump persists, then she should be examined by your vet to determine the cause. Your vet can do a fine needle aspirate and cytology to help diagnose the type of mass. If the cells look concerning, then your vet may recommend removal with biopsy.
