My 7-week old puppy has runny diarrhea after eating deli turkey. Why?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 19 days old | 11 lbs

My 7 week old puppy has extremely runny diarrhea but no blood and is acting completely normal it started yesterday and the only thing different is that he ate a little bit of deli turkey. He does eat a lot when we put it out and seemed really bloated yesterday.

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Diarrhea in a young puppy is almost always from intestinal parasites (worms). If the diarrhea does not clear up on it's own within 24-38 hours then he should see a vet for a fecal test. I doubt he would have that much diarrhea from some deli Turkey but if it is, the diarrhea should clear up on it's own.
