My puppy ate Genteal Artificial Tears eye drops. Will she be okay?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 28 days old | 28 lbs

Puppy ingested Genteal Artificial Tears. Bottle is about half full now. Puncture holes on the bottle and a good bit of liquid on the couch where she was chewing on it. I’m thinking she may have ingested 1/4 of the bottle at the most. Will she be okay?

At worst, you may see some vomiting and/or diarrhea. As long as Layla is behaving normally otherwise, either can be managed at home with a 24 hour fast followed by a bland diet fed in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. Transition slowly tot the regular diet afterwards. Monitor for persistent vomiting/diarrhea, extreme lethargy, loss of appetite or wobbly gait. These symptoms should be addressed by your veterinarian.
