Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 2 years and 1 month old | 40 lbs
Our young dog has a drak grey/black bean-shaped growth on the back of his neck. Showed up in the last week. What could it be, as is this urgent and dangerous? Our vet cannot see us until second week of February, and I want to know if i should be taking him to urgent care.

From this image, it looks as though the lump may be a tick. It is hard to tell from an image alone, but I would recommend asking your vet for a technician appointment to see if they can remove it for you. If it's not a tick, then it is likely something that can wait until february unless it grows excessively or starts bleeding.
