Is it normal for my 14-week-old German Shepherd puppy to lose a tooth?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 9 days old | 20 lbs

My 14 week old German Shepard’s tooth fell out when I gave him a rawhide. It looked to be a premolar or molar. Is this normal?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your puppy. Most puppies start losing baby teeth around 16 weeks of age. So this is a little early, but likely normal. You can check his front teeth and see if he has lost any of those as well. I hope this information helps!
