Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Female | 10 years and 2 months old | 59 lbs
Dear Vet. My dog is on royal Canin veterinary hypoallergenic dry food since few months now. But today I noticed on royal Canin website that this food is not recommended for dogs with trygleceride and cholesterol high levels. However my dogs cholesterol was 316(H) 6months ago that was before I started with hypoallergenic. Now I am supper concerned. What should I do? Or what do you suggest.

This diet is excellent for skin. The main energy source in this diet is fat which may effect dogs who already have high triglyceride or cholesterol levels. Most dogs who have those levels, will still do well on the diet. A good course of action would be to have another blood work run on Moka to look at the levels now that she is on the diet. A comparison with the blood work 6 months ago will let you know if the diet is causing a further increase in the values. Then you can make a decision on the benefits vs risks of the diet. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
