My cat has blood on her eyelid and fur loss. When should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Devon Rex | Female | spayed | 3 years and 6 months old | 6 lbs

I’ve just noticed my cat has blood on her eyelid and there’s a spot without fur around the blood. She is behaving and eating normally. I’ve attached pictures of both eyes to show the difference. Should I go to the vet right away or wait and see how things evolve? Thanks!

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Moka. It looks like she may have an injury above that eye. Gently clean it with warm water, and monitor it. If it looks infected, or she rubs at it, you see redness in the eye, or eye discharge, then I would take her into a vet. I hope this helps!
