Pet's info: Dog | Multi-Colored Standard Poodle | Male | 3 years and 9 months old | 65 lbs
This is on my standard poodles tail. The also has one on each side of his butt. Vet said the butt ones are from "sitting on his butt too much" but he never does. He lays down. This tail one is new.

It looks like he might have a dermatitis/skin infection which could be secondary to allergies. You should check him for fleas to make sure that isn't the cause. He might also be licking his hind end because of an anal gland issue. You could try over the counter Vetericyn spray and see if that helps. If not, he needs to be examined and treated by a vet. He may need an antibiotic, corticosteroid, or other medications to treat.
