What to do about my dog's weeping abdominal lump after vet visit?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 11 months and 16 days old | 31.3 lbs

My dog has been to the vet as I found a small bump to his abdomen. The lump is firm and red and looks like it’s a histiocytoma or an abscess which he did not say. It is firm to the touch and has a few hair follicles there. It has now now started to weep with blood and pus. It’s not very much. I have applied lucellin spray and gave him Epsom salt wash. It doesn’t appear to bother him. He is almost 1 years old. I have a photo of it.

If the lump continues to weep blood and pus, he should be re-examined by your vet. If it is an abscess/pustule then your dog will need an antibiotic. Your vet can perform a fine needle aspirate to help determine the type of lump. You can also spray the lump with an over the counter product, like Vetericyn Plus Spray and see if that helps.
