Rescued Samoyed cries when I scratch his back. Is it emotional pain?

Pet's info: Dog | Samoyed | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 10 days old | 55 lbs

Hello, i just rescued a neglected/starved Samoyed recently. took him to the vet got him his shots and examined him everything seems ok hes 5 months old now but when i try to scratch his back he keeps crying as if something hurts him i keep checking the spot but nothing is there is this an emotional pain?

If the pain seems to be in one particular spot than he should be rechecked by your vet to determine the cause and treat. He may have a muscle strain/sprain and need an anti-inflammatory. I don't think emotional pain would be localized to one spot.
