My Pomeranian ate chocolate. What to do if she's fine after hours?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | 10 lbs

My small pomeranian ate more than half of a big ferrero rocher chocolate. We left the house at around 5:43 pm and it's been almost 5 hours since we had left because right now it's 10:53. She seems to be ok for now, but I don't know what I can do. The other day she ate crumbs of oreo and she did fine but today it was a little more chocolate than last time. Can you please let me know what I can do?

Chocolate toxicity is determined by the type of chocolate, the amount ingested, and the size of your dog. We would need to know the size/weight of the ball and weight of your dog to give appropriate toxicity advice. If your doing is doing fine at this point, it is probably a non-toxic dose. Diarrhea and vomiting can occur secondary to the sugar and fat. I would monitor and feed a bland diet if necessary.
