My pug's eye is pink and foggy. Should I be worried and see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 1 month old | 35 lbs

My pugs left eye is pink and looks foggy in certain lighting. I’ve been using Vetericyn pet eye wash but it’s been a few days. I’m super worried and I’m not sure what to do.

Hello. I am so sorry for your worries with Higgins. There appears to be significant chemosis & conjunctivitis in & around the eye in addition to the corneal edema that causing the bluish cast to the eye. This could indicate a possible infection in the eye. It is not wrong to use the Vetericyn, but Higgins really needs to see a veterinarian so that an appropriate antibacterial &/or steroidal medication is prescribed. I hope you can have him seen soon. Thanks for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
