If a rabbit get vaccinated against rabies, can the vaccine against rabies cause the rabbit rabies? Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | 1.105 lbs

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Banana. Rabbits are not commonly vaccinated for rabies as the disease is extremely rare in animals such as rabbits, squirrels and chipmunks. Furthermore, there has not been a case of transmission from one these animals to humans. This decreases the need to vaccinate these animals. As far as the rabies vaccine, it is a killed virus. This means that the virus is not able to be spread by the vaccine. I hope this information helps!
