Why is my adopted kitten sneezing and coughing with Haws Syndrome?

I adopted a kitten and within the first week she showed signs of being sick took her in to vet and was diagnosed with non-regenerative anemia and was given a stronger dewormer and a course of doxycycline for 2 weeks. After a week of being off she had a prolapse of her third eye and was then diagnosed with haws syndrome so put her on probiotics but she is now starting to sneeze a bit more with a slight cough at times. Has anyone seen this? We currently don’t know what is going on with her. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 29 days old | 3 lbs

I have to say I have never heard of the term “Haws Syndrome.” Though I am familiar with what it is. In my experience, it can be related to intestinal parasites in cats, which Lola has been treated for. Unfortunately, it sounds like she wasn’t a particularly healthy kitty to start with, and I would bet that her recent sneezing and coughing is an upper respiratory tract infection, common in kittens. Most are viral and will run their course over 2-3 weeks. Some are bacterial and would respond to antibiotics (you might want to discuss another round of doxycycline with your vet). It’s also important to do another round of the strong dewormer 3-4 weeks after the first round to completely get rid of intestinal worms.
