My cat is breathing loudly. When should I worry and call the vet?

Do I need to worry if I notice stertorous breathing in my cat?

Yes, stertor is not normal and does indicate some cause for concern. You should never be able to easily hear a cat breathe (soft, normal breathing when you're closely listening for it is obviously okay) - if you can easily hear it, there's a problem! If you're noticing stertorous breathing from Naomi, there's the potential that she could have an upper respiratory obstruction, infection, or other conditions. Any breathing changes should be urgently addressed by your vet or an emergency vet. I hope that everything goes well!
