My 1 year old dog was throwing up for 4 days in a row, we took her to the vet and paid for x-ray and blood work, all came back good. She was given some medicine and seemed to be feeling all better. The medicine is all done and she threw up again today. What is going on?

Hi and thanks for your request. At this age dietary indiscretion, foreign body ingestion and pancreatitis are by far the most common causes of persistent vomiting episodes. Abdominal ultrasound is more sensitive to detect foreign bodies as it can show even soft tissue ones. A specific blood test for pancreatitis is available. Further discussion upon persistent vomit should consider what type of treatment was given, if other signs are present and whether this time is a single episode or multiple. A bland diet in small portion can be given but ideally a further check up is required generally speaking.
